The round tables are organized by the company “Prime consulting” Ltd. within the project “Access to EU regional funds - Supporting the implementation of Operational Program “Regional development”.
The project is financed by the Global Opportunity Fund of UK and is supported by the Ministry of regional development and public works (MRDPW). It aims at raising the capacity of the experts from the municipal administrations of the municipalities Ardino, Belitsa, Dragoman, Dryanovo, Godech, Kajnardja, Malko Tarnovo, Momchilgrad, Silistra, Sredets, Tryqvna and Yakoruda, and of the Intermediate bodies in the six planning regions from the structures of the Directorate General “Planning and regional development” of the Ministry of regional development and public works, for effective absorption of the EU Structural funds.
The mayor and the chairman of the Municipal council of Ardino municipality, the deputy mayors of the municipalities Malko Tarnovo, Momchilgrad and Sredets, and experts from the municipal administration participated in the round table.
Questions about the implementation of projects financed by OPRD under measure 4.1 “Small-scale local investments” within which were done series of reconstruction and rehabilitation works in the schools of Ardino, Momchilgrad and Sredets, were discussed. An expert from the Intermediate body “South Central Planning Region” of MRDPW presented to the participations in the round table information for the financial monitoring and control of projects, good examples, and the most common mistakes during the implementation of the projects. The European territorial cooperation programmes “Greece – Bulgaria 2007 -2013” and “Bulgaria – Turkey 2007 -2013” were presented as opportunities for financing of activities for development of the economy, social cohesion, protection of the environment and development of the cross – border regions.
The next round tables will be organized for the municipalities Dryanovo, Kajnardja, Silistra and Tryavna on 26 – 27 February 2009 in city of Veliko Tarnovo and for the municipalities of Belitsam Godech, Dragoman and Yakoruda on 5 – 6 March 2009 in the city of Sofia.
